La Française Forum Securities Limited

La Française Forum Securities (“LFFS”) is a global boutique firm owned by Groupe La Française dedicated to investments in publicly listed real estate equities and debt on behalf of institutional and high net worth investors.

With its team of globally minded, locally based investment professionals in offices in Singapore, London and Stamford (US, Connecticut), the team is well positioned to identify mispricing in global real estate markets and create unique alpha generating strategies for its clients. These may include traditional long only products, strategies focused on providing exposure to global real estate securities with a volatility controlled approach or portfolios focused on accentuating sustainability (environmental, social and governance factors). At LFFS*, we pride ourselves in being at the leading edge of product development in this niche but important and growing asset class.

*Please see below for important legal and regulatory disclosures concerning LFFS.

What are our key differentiating features ?

  • Multicultural globally located and seasoned team speaking over a dozen foreign languages
  • Out of the box thinking and product development approach
  • Nimble, focused on individual client needs, sufficient product capacity
  • Proven, cycle tested decade long track record backed by a robust fundamental investment process
  • Variety of client relationships: managed accounts, fund vehicles, subabvisory, white labelling and partnerships

Investment Process & Products

At LFFS we are focused on creating strategies that meet our clients' needs. These strategies include long only strategies (income, diversified, alpha, emerging markets strategy) as well as “second generation” strategies demonstrating an innovative take on the asset class (volatility controlled strategy, sustainable/ESG real estate securities strategy, sharia strategy and/or combination of publicly listed equity and debt).

Focus on investment in public markets

LFFS has a decade-long track record and is recognized for its innovative and out of the box thinking in global real estate securities.

Differentiation : 4 strategic pillars

  • Focus on identification of market mispricing and alpha generation potential ahead of markets
  • Fundamental analysis focused on bottom-up stock picking anchored in cycle-tested proprietary return-risk models
  • Valuation technique consisting of net asset value and cash flow analysis as well as proprietary risk modelling
  • Strategies targeted to meet clients’ objectives (regarding yield, return, risk, leverage, asset location, benchmark outperformance, etc.)

Strategies

  • Long-only strategies

Long only products provide access to the liquid real estate asset class and target benchmark outperformance; this can be focused on yield outperformance (ca 50% higher) or delivery of superior performance (ca 10-20% higher) than the respective index.

  • Volatility controlled strategies

Volatility control and downside protection stand in the forefront of this strategy. Active hedging instruments or a combination of real estate debt and equity in portfolio mix are used to achieve these objectives.

  • Sustainable ESG strategies

This portfolio invests only in real estate equities with above average environmental, social and governance characteristics and attractive risk adjusted returns; such portfolios further aim to deliver a “sustainable dividend” in a financial context, outperforming generic real estate equities

  • Sharia Compliant strategies

Sharia compliant strategy addresses a growing demand for sharia products in the Middle East and South East Asia; portfolio focuses on investing in halal companies with low level of leverage on global basis
